Collinsville Patchworkers Calendar 2017

Monthly Quilt Meeting:  We meet the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. (This time is a learning opportunity with a speaker or group discussion.) Meet at the Collinsville Library.  There are no dues to attend.
Sew In:  The Saturday immediately following that Tuesday is the Sit N Sew from 10:00am to 5:00pm. (This is a project driven time for you to work on your own projects and bring a potluck dish to share.  Meet at the Collinsville Library.  There are no dues to attend.  There is no obligation on time...come when you can, leave when you have to.)


Special Events/Programs

Friday, June 23:  Bartlesville Quilt Show
  We will meet at the Baptist church parking lot across the street from the Collinsville Library at 9:30am.   We can eat lunch at ????  If there is interest, we could also visit one or more of the new quilt shops that recently opened in Bartlesville.

Tuesday, July 11: Mystery Quilt Event and Group Discussion
    Vickie Ewing will be giving us the instructions for a Mystery Quilt to work on all year.

GROUP DISCUSSION  
    Please bring in ONE favorite or very useful tool/notion you use for making a quilt.  Please plan on 5 minutes or less to discuss this item and show one thing you have made using it.  This is a time to introduce new notions/tools for possible follow up information at another meeting or just one on one discussion later.  We are not a beginner quilt club.  Five minutes should be a sufficient time to decide if we need further information one on one or a possible full meeting next year.

Tuesday, August 8:  Quilt Border Presentation
    Patty Hampton will be showing how to best incorporate borders into our quilts.
The Collinsville Library has said they will be closed for 2 to 4 weeks in August.  We may have to find somewhere else to meet this month.  

Tuesday, September 12:  Minky Presentation
    Ruth Christinson will be teaching us how to use Minky in our quilts.  

Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16:  Ricky Tims Quilt Luminarium
    July 27 is the last day to sign up online for Ricky Tim’s Quilt Luminarium with the discounted price of $164.00.  After this day it is $199.00.

Friday, September 22:  Pryor Quilt Show.
      We will meet at the Baptist church parking lot across the street from the Collinsville  Library at 9:30am.   We can eat lunch at ????

Tuesday, October 10:  GROUP DISCUSSION  
    Please bring in your favorite quilt related book to tell why you like it and what you learned and show one thing you made using the book.  Please limit your discussion to 5 minutes or less.  This is a time for us to introduce new books to the group for possible follow up discussion at another meeting or just one on one later.

Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21 and Sunday you can sew until 5:00:   RETREAT
  Tulakogee Conference Center on beautiful Ft. Gibson Lake.  Chris Pierce is the retreat Chairman.  If you plan to attend she will accept your full payment for the retreat at the September meeting  

Friday, October 20 and Saturday:  Claremore Quilt Show

Tuesday, November 14:  Machine Appliqué
    Rose Cassie will be teaching us about machine appliqué.

Tuesday, December 12:  Christmas party!!

Vickie Ewing is working on more possible road trips and special events for us.

Evening Meeting time and place: The Collinsville Patchworkers quilt guild meets on the second Tuesday of the month, at the Collinsville, Oklahoma, Library from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.   Our meetings are free to attend and offer a wealth of inspiration and stimulation for the beginning quilter as well as an experienced quilter.  During the meetings we will have a program which might demonstrate a new technique or how to refine a common technique used to complete a quilt.  Sometimes we have a group discussion about a particular theme.  One such theme was "Quilters never throw anything away" and all the members brought in examples of how they reuse or repurpose things, instead of adding them to the trash heap.   Sew In time and place: The SewI In is an all day event, or however long you choose to participate.  It meets the Saturday, immediately following the evening meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, in the Collinsville Library where we have the evening meetings, fro

Collinsville Patchworkers 2020

The Collinsville, Ok, Patchworkers, meets monthly at 6:00 the second Tuesday of the month at the Collinsville, Public Library. https://www.tulsalibrary.org/locations/collinsville There is no cost to attend. We have a Show and Tell, where members bring their projects they are currently working on or have finished. Following Show and Tell there is a short informative demonstration or program. March, 10,  our program will be a discussion of what makes a modern quilt. April, 14th,  Our program will be given by Ann Olson and Pete Olson.  Ann is an award winning Long Arm Quilter. She will be discussing what you need to do to prepare your quilt for the Long Arm professional to work on your quilt. May 12,  Vickie Johnston Ewing will be discussing ways to stash bust and show us some patterns and tips for making relatively easy quilts. June 9th, Election of Officers and our Program will be the completion of a Mystery Quilt pattern some of us participated in making.
